Lipodissolve
Nonsurgical Liposculpture: A New Frontier in Cosmetic Medicine

Lipodissolve injections are the latest option for patients seeking to combat localized fat of the face and body without any surgical intervention.

Lipodissolve is the latest medical treatment without surgery that can reduce fat deposits. Lipodissolve is particularly well-suited for women who have isolated pockets of fat. These localized fat deposits may either be simply excess or sometimes be an inherited trait and typically do not respond to dieting or exercise. Liposuction was known as the only way to eliminate them. But if these deposits consist of only fat and require no excess tightening of skin by surgery, they can now be gradually reduced without surgery with a procedure known as Lipodissolve.

Before & After: Chin

While it is possible to undergo Lipodissolve at almost any age, you will obtain the best results if your skin has enough elasticity to be able to achieve a smooth contour following a fat removal procedure.

Lipodissolve can aid to treat various medical conditions in both men and women that include treating fat deposits of the face or body, cellulite, lipomas, help with skin retraction, and more. It is important to understand that Lipodissolve is not a weight-loss treatment.

Am I a good candidate for Lipodissolve?
You may be a good candidate for Lipodissolve if you have localized excess fat or if you desire contouring in any of the following areas:
  • Neck or "double chin"
  • Upper and lower arms
  • Back or "love handles"
  • Abdomen and waist
  • Hips and buttocks
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Inner and outer knee
  • Calves and ankles
  • Cellulite

  • Lipodissolve should not be considered a substitute for overall weight loss, and you may not show any difference in actual weight even if you notice a final reduction in one or more dress sizes.

Lipodissolve is preferred on one area at a time on smaller fat areas but can also be performed on 2-3 areas of the body at the same time.

How will my physician evaluate me for Lipodissolve?
Because of individual physical factors, not everyone is a candidate and will not achieve the same results from Lipodissolve; surgery may be a better option. Your physician will take into consideration your unique characteristics in determining the most effective treatment, your expectations and whether they can be realistically achieved.

    How will I look initially?
It is important to realize that the amount of time it takes for results to show varies greatly among individuals and often, more than one session is required for the body to process sufficient loss of fat. You will notice swelling, redness and bruising, which is to be expected.
Swelling usually begins to subside within a week following the procedure while any bruising that occur can last two weeks or longer. There may also be numbness or a feeling of 'nodules' in some areas which are internal bruising. These may take several months to disappear. Patients should avoid tanning or saunas at least two weeks after each therapy.

    Is Lipodissolve painful?
Not generally. Most patients don't experience actual pain. Areas can be numbed with ice or numbing cream before treatment, if required. Some patients may experience a sensation of heat, ache, stinging and soreness of varied degrees that can be managed with general pain medications. On body areas where large volumes of medications are required to dissolve the fat, the procedure can cause some ache and soreness. The pain level varies greatly from patient to patient.

When can I resume my normal activities?
In most cases, you may return to work immediately. In some cases where larger areas of the face or stomach is treated, you may wish to rest or reduce activity for a day due to the excess swelling and soreness.

    When will I see results?
The healing process is gradual so you should expect a waiting period of anywhere from 4-8 weeks between each session. This may vary from patient to patient, depending on your body structure and metabolism. The results of Lipodissolve are long-lasting and will be permanent until new weight gain has occurred.

    What are the limitations?
Lipodissolve may require several sessions. Patients with thyroid problems or metabolic disorders may required more sessions than normal and may see insignificant results. Patients that have adiposity combined with excess binding tissue will have less changes to achieve any visible results from Lipodissolve. Patients that are significantly obsess may not benefit from Lipodissolve.

    Are these risks with Lipodissolve?
Risks are known to be very rare. As with any medical procedure and because each patient is unique, risks cannot be fully ruled out. The most plausible known risks are allergic reactions to any of the medication.
